The story behind the artwork
SBK – Blue Vision XL — Original Blue Eagle Artwork, 100 × 70 cm
Blue Vision XL is a striking large-format artwork built around the piercing gaze of a bird of prey, rendered entirely in cool blues and whites. Acrylic paint and airbrush spraywork combine to build up radiating, feather-like brushstrokes that explode outward from the eyes and beak, while fine paint-splatter detailing drifts across the pale canvas below — as if the feathers themselves were dissolving into the surface.
Blue is used here as more than a colour choice: it carries associations of calm, clarity and depth, while the eagle's intense, forward-facing stare brings focus, strength and vigilance to the same composition. The result is a piece that reads as both serene and commanding, suited to contemporary, coastal or minimalist interiors looking for a bold single focal point.
Key characteristics
One-of-a-kind: a unique original, painted entirely by hand in the artist's studio — this exact piece will not be repeated.
Acrylic & airbrush technique: layered acrylic paint built up with airbrush spraywork to create soft gradients and sharp, feather-like strokes in the same composition.
High-gloss varnish finish: a protective high-gloss varnish deepens the blues and gives the surface a polished, gallery-ready sheen.
Cool blue palette: deep navy, cobalt and pale sky blue tones over a soft blush-white canvas ground.
Hand-signed original: individually created and signed by the artist.
The story behind Blue Vision XL
The composition is built around a single, direct stare — the eagle rendered close enough to fill the entire canvas, so that its eyes and beak sit at the exact centre of the piece. Everything else grows outward from that point: long, wind-swept brushstrokes fan out to form the head and neck feathers, thinning and lightening in colour the further they travel from the centre, until they break apart into scattered airbrushed dots and isolated feather marks on the bare canvas.
That gradual dissolve, from dense hand-painted feather texture to fine airbrushed mist, is what gives the artwork its sense of movement — as if the bird were caught mid-motion, its edges not yet settled. The restrained blue-and-white palette keeps the focus on that contrast in texture and technique rather than on colour variety, letting the eyes do the emotional work of the piece.
Every stage of Blue Vision XL, from the initial blocking-in of the feathers to the final airbrushed detailing and varnish, is completed by hand in the artist's studio, making its exact texture and paint distribution impossible to reproduce in a second piece.
