The story behind The Tides
The work translates the movement of water into material. Broad, pale folds sweep across the surface like tides advancing and retreating over sand, while the exposed granular areas recall shells, pebbles and seabeds shaped over time.
The contrast between the smooth, flowing relief and the rougher mineral texture creates a quiet visual rhythm. Light travels across the glossy resin, gathering along every ridge and changing the appearance of the work throughout the day.
Although its palette is deliberately calm, the piece has a strong physical presence. Its movement is held in suspension, as if a fleeting gesture of the sea had been captured and preserved.
