Hand-sculpted plaster relief, deep black tones and reflective resin combine to create a dramatic surface filled with volume, texture and movement.

Its generous horizontal format and monochromatic palette make it a striking focal point for contemporary, minimalist, industrial or sophisticated interiors.

Key characteristics

One-of-a-kind: a unique original, sculpted and painted entirely by hand in the artist’s studio.

Sculptural relief: plaster is shaped directly onto the canvas to create raised waves, irregular textures and organic formations.

Reflective surface: resin creates glossy areas and fluid patterns that interact with changing light.

Monochrome depth: deep black, charcoal and reflective black tones emphasise the shadows and different levels of the relief.

Hand-signed original: individually created and signed by the artist.

The story behind Blackwave XL

The composition is inspired by the raw energy and continuous movement of the ocean, interpreted through an abstract and contemporary approach.

Across the canvas, sculpted plaster forms rise and fall like waves frozen in motion. Each section is shaped individually by hand, creating an irregular surface where ridges, cavities and organic textures give the artwork its distinctive character.

Deep black and charcoal tones reinforce the shadows created by the relief, while layers of acrylic and spray paint bring subtle variations across the surface.

Resin is then applied using a water-based technique, allowing fluid patterns and glossy areas to develop naturally across the composition. These reflective sections catch the light differently depending on the time of day and viewing angle, creating the impression of water moving across a dark surface.

The result is an artwork that exists somewhere between painting and sculpture. Its appearance changes as light travels across the relief, revealing new textures, reflections and areas of depth.

Every stage of Blackwave XL is completed by hand in the artist’s studio, ensuring that its forms, textures and imperfections can never be reproduced in exactly the same way.

Technical details

Artist: Sokaina Bouzagane Kaddouri (SBK)

Dimensions: 100 × 70 cm

Format: XL

Orientation: Horizontal

Support: Unframed canvas

Materials: Plaster, acrylic paint, spray paint and resin

Technique: Hand-sculpted plaster relief with acrylic, spray paint and resin finish

Colours: Deep black, charcoal and reflective black tones

Surface: Three-dimensional textured relief with glossy resin areas

Style: Abstract, contemporary

Condition: New, directly from the artist’s studio

Signature: Hand-signed by the artist

Frame: Not included

Buying with confidence

Unique original: this is a one-of-a-kind physical artwork, not a print or reproduction.

Certificate of authenticity: supplied with documentation confirming the originality of the work.

Signed by the artist: individually hand-signed by SBK.

Tracked shipping from Spain: the artwork ships directly from the artist's studio with tracking.

Secure online checkout: purchase is completed through SBK Art's Shopify checkout.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0962/9984/3964/files/70f632fc-dab8-441c-9b6f-85cade4d3992.jpg?v=1787477965
